The Quiet Work Behind Women-Built Pet Brands
International Women’s Day
Most businesses don’t begin with big announcements. They begin quietly, often late at night, after the emails have stopped and the meetings are done. After the rest of the world has gone to sleep. Those quiet hours are when many founders finally open their laptops and begin building something they believe in.
Sometimes it looks like refreshing the screen and waiting for the first order to come through. Sometimes it’s rewriting a website for the fifth time, trying to find the right words. Sometimes it’s hovering over the “publish” button, wondering if anyone will notice.
Other times it’s something simpler — researching ingredients, materials or suppliers and trying to understand what is actually better for the pets we love.
This is how many independent pet brands begin.
It’s also how Reva began.
The Reality of Building Something From Nothing
Starting a business rarely looks the way people imagine. From the outside it can appear exciting or glamorous, but the reality is usually much quieter. Most brands begin with small steps taken in the evenings after a full day of work, or on weekends that would otherwise be spent resting.
Much of that early work happens behind the scenes. It might be researching suppliers, building a website, answering customer messages, or preparing the first products to sell. Founders often find themselves learning skills they never expected to learn, simply because that’s what it takes to bring an idea to life.
This is especially true for many independent brands in the pet industry. Long before customers discover them, founders are investing hours of work into creating something better — whether that’s improving ingredients, rethinking product design, or developing products they couldn’t find for their own pets.
For many women founders, that reality is very familiar. Building something from nothing rarely happens overnight. It’s usually the result of persistence, curiosity, and a genuine desire to create something better.
Celebrating Women-Founded Pet Brands
This International Women’s Day, we wanted to recognise the women who are building thoughtful businesses in the pet industry.
Behind many of the brands featured on Reva are founders who cared enough to question what already existed – and decided to create something better.
Brands built with care, creativity, and a genuine love for animals.
Here are some of the independent pet brands on Revamany of which are women-founded or women-led:
To build something thoughtful.
To do things differently.
To create products they genuinely believed in.
Building the Future of Pet Care
The pet industry is changing.
Pet parents are asking more questions about ingredients, materials, and where products come from. They’re looking for brands that prioritise quality, transparency, and animal wellbeing.
Many of the most exciting ideas in the industry today are coming from independent founders – people building brands with purpose and care.
Reva was created to make discovering those brands easier.
Not by adding more noise, but by curating products from companies that genuinely care about pets and the people who love them.
A Moment to Recognise the Work
International Women’s Day isn’t just about celebrating big milestones.
It’s about recognising the quiet work that happens long before those moments.
The late nights.
The doubts.
The small wins.
The courage it takes to begin.
To every woman building something – whether it’s a brand, a business, or an idea that hasn’t been shared yet – this day is for you.
And to the founders behind the brands on Reva:
Thank you for creating something better for the pets we love.
