Cat Upstages Owner's Pregnancy Announcement By Defying Gravity in This Viral TikTok Video

Cats are great pets because you never know what they’re going to do next. One second, they are minding their business, and the next, they are defying the laws of time, space, and most often, gravity. Cats also keep you humble by reminding you they’re always the main character, no matter how exciting your little human life gets.

Watch this viral cat video a TikTok user accidentally captured when preparing to announce her pregnancy to her husband.

TikTok user Gabby (@gabbyrosehair) understandably wanted to film a video of her breaking the news of her pregnancy to her husband. But her cat had other ideas.

In the viral video, you can see Gabby walking away from her phone she carefully positioned to capture her special moment and her cat sitting calmly on the counter. But the serene scene didn’t last for long. When Gabby gets within an arm’s length of her cat, he suddenly leaps backward several feet from the counter into the kitchen sink, scattering knives and shattering cups left and right.

In her caption, Gabby adds “Somehow forgot to share this a year ago and I wish you could see the absolute chaos that went on outside of the video when he landed in the sink 🤣 dishes everywhere, knives went flying and cups shattered but our cat is totally fine!”

It’s unclear what set Gabby’s cat off, but the internet has its guesses. One TikTok user hilariously commented “cat definitely thought pregnancy was contagious 😭😭.”

Other users were marveling at the heights the kitty was able to reach—and backward—with users commenting “HOW DID HE EVEN DO THAT” and “Did he press an eject button? 😂”

While we wish Gabby would have posted this instant hit a year ago, we, along with the rest of the internet, are so glad she finally got around to it. In its first 24 hours on TikTok, the video surpassed two million likes and 15 million views.
